What Customers Say About DEWALT DW745 Heavy Duty 10-Inch Compact Job Site Table Saw with 16 Inch Max Rip Capacity:

The saw cuts through boards with ease and no burning. While adjusting the rip fence, if the rip fence latch has to pass over the adjustment knob the distance is so close, I have cut the top of my thumb on the latch while turning the knob. Ripping boards is a breeze and the accuracy is excellent.

The factory presets were almost perfect out of the box, so set up was fast. Nothing to bad, just annoying. I only have one complaint.

I bought this saw for simple projects around the home. I wanted a 40T blade not the 24T that came with the saw. Other than that, the saw is excellent.

I've ripped 1/8 inch shims 8 feet long without a problem. To be totally fair with this review, I bought a Freud D1040X Diablo blade along with the saw and have only used it.

Buy one. Easy to use, very smooth and the fence scale is incredibly precise. The included pushstick is a nice feature and the 16 inch capacity hasnt been an issue as I use a skilsaw for such large pieces.Power is great, it's plowed through wet frozen pt and ironwood with no problems and gone right on to fine finish work with no loss of accuracy. A++ Bought this saw a few months ago to replace my ancient makita and I love it. This saw gets more use on jobs than our fullsize ridgid.

Yes, the DeWalt won't take a dado blade, but I'm strictly an amateur home improver, and if I ever need to make dado cuts, I'll get a bigger saw. I could have deducted a half star for the miter gauge it came with if I planned to use it, but I have a Makita sliding miter saw for those cuts. The Bosch 4100-09 is consistantly rated slightly higher than the DW 745 on most web sites, but it also costs more and weighs over a hundred pounds.

I looked at many other portables in the store and the rack and pinion fence on this one is hands down the best one available. I like being able to easily move this saw from place to place. It was sqare to the blade right out of the box and has stayed that way.

After reading every review on portable table saws I could find, I chose the DeWalt. I'm considering a better blade, as the blade it came with doesn't leave as smooth a cut as I would like. If you buy the saw and stand together, you won't be disappointed.

The price, weight issue, and the DeWalt rack and pinion fence made my decision easy. I have had this saw a couple months now and it cuts very well.

I'm impressed.I'd give it 4.5 stars as the miter gauge is somewhat flimsy and I don't rely on it for crosscuting, and in a perfect world the fence would also extend 24" instead of 16", but otherwise this saw's hard to beat. I've always liked this saw, but it really showed it's mettle on this project. I've had this saw for two years, and it's performed very well at fairly run-of-the-mill cabinetry jobs: ripping plywood, hardwood moldings, etc. What compelled me to write a review is how well it preformed at ripping 200+ feet of 2" thick cherry slabs. Plenty of power, and a nice clean edge even through knots and irregular grain.

I really like this machine, the fence takes a little while to get used to with the knob and lock down but once you do you wish your other saws had it.I also like the dust hookup for shop vac and the on board push stick. It was time for a new saw, I am getting older and needed something lighter than my old delta 9" and better than a cheap Delta 10" portable that I have. Glad I bought it. The only thing I don't like is the blade height has no lock. I needed to cut 2x, window extensions and mostly small things so 16" rip is fine. Bought it with the stand, I am 6'1" and have no problem with height.
